BIOSTIMULANTS

Stimulating Growth. Unlocking Potential.

What is a biostimulant?

Biostimulant – Any substance or microorganism applied to plants with the aim to enhance nutritional efficiency, abiotic stress tolerance and/or crop quality traits, regardless of its nutrient content.

Global agricultural production relies heavily on supplementing crop nutrient demand with macro, secondary, and micronutrients. Loveland Products’ plant nutrition portfolio contains soil- and foliar-optimized products designed to match overall crop needs and in-season nutrient demand. Growing economic and environmental challenges faced by production agriculture require ongoing innovation. For more than three decades, Loveland Products has researched and developed technologies to address these challenges, many of which could be categorized as biostimulants.

Biostimulants

Humic Substances

Naturally occurring carbon substances that have been oxidized or bioreacted to increase bioactivity. These production processes result in complex substances with a high concentration of pH dependent charges that serve to hold nutrition in the rhizosphere.

Biostimulants

Biocatalyst

A consortia of microbial exudates, signaling compounds, enzymes, and other substrate products that improve soil-bound nutrient solubility and stimulate nutrient cycling from soil organic matter.

Biostimulants

Beneficial Fungi

Beneficial fungi form symbiotic relationships with plants that expand the effective root system, improving access to immobile nutrients and enhancing water uptake.

Biostimulants

Beneficial Bacteria

Beneficial bacteria colonize the rhizosphere and increase nutrient‑use efficiency by converting tied‑up nutrients into plant‑available forms through mineralization, fixation, and solubilization processes

Biostimulants

Protein Hydrolysates

Chemical or enzymatic protein hydrolysis from animal or crop residues and other ammino acid derivatives.

Biostimulants

Botanicals

Substances extracted from plants either by physical, chemical or biological means. Loveland Products makes extensive use of serial biological reactors that garner more diverse and higher concentrations of these extracts in addition to microbial substrates associated with digestion.

Biostimulants

Biopolymers

Natural polymer that activates plant defense and stress‑response systems to improve tolerance and quality.

Biostimulants

Phytohormones

Phytohormones are naturally occurring plant “messenger molecules” that tell the plant when to grow, make roots, form flowers, ripen fruit, or respond to stress

Biostimulants

Inorganic Compounds

Non‑nutritional compounds applied to crops that do not provide essential plant nutrients (like N, P, K, or micros) but still influence plant growth, stress tolerance, nutrient uptake, or soil/plant processes.
